Title:  Director of Community Outreach & Volunteering

Responsibilities: To provide a safe space for LGBTQIA+ folks, our ‘Ohana, to come together and give back to the community. We have fun and impactful volunteer activities ahead of us.  If you have suggestions, connections or recommendations on volunteer opportunities, we want to hear from you! 

Reason for Joining the Board: After a few seasons of learnings as player — felt inspired by the work and people. Having the ability to support the expansion of LGBTQIA+ efforts on Oahu is an awesome responsibility!

Number of years with the league: I’ve played two (2) seasons with HIGKL - Sliiide In My DMs (Spring 2020), Mismatched Sox (Spring 2023) and Blue Balls (Fall 2023).

Previous Leadership:  My professional background is over 15 years in Human Resources - Talent Acquisition. I’m currently with a non-profit hospital as a HR Talent Advisor. Before joining the health system, worked in Casting at The Walt Disney Company and HR Recruitment at Universal Studios.

Why you love like playing with HIGKL: I love playing with HIGKL as hundreds of people show up both on the field and sidelines. We have awesome people in the LGBTQIA+ community and my recommendation is to join a new team every season!
