Kickball Classic Information

Welcome to the 2nd Annual Hawaii Gay Kickball Classic Tournament!

Our tournament will be held over Labor day weekend here on Oahu at Kapiolani Park and we have a really great weekend planned.

This post contains a lot of information, so take your time to read through it all.

Mahalos:

First and foremost, the HIGKL board of directors want to send out HUGE MAHALOS to each of you for making this weekend happen. With the teams, players, events, and vendors we have enlisted, it is going to be so much fun and we cannot wait! We have been working steadily behind the scenes to make this a super fun event.

Secondly, We want to send a double HUGE MAHALO to all of our sponsors and vendors who, with your registration, are making this such a cool event.

Background:

A little background on this event: The HIGKL founder, Mikey Rickman, has wanted to initiate an all island kickball tournament for many years- COVISD disrupted those plans, however last year, we held our very first HIGKL Classic in Kona, Hawaii! Each year we will be planning to hold an all island classic and we will also include our mainland sisters. In fact we sent out emails to several teams on the mainland to join us. While they are unable to join this year, they are stoked for next year!

Scheduling:

This year, our classic will be on Oahu, and next year it will be back in Kona- alternating every year. This year we had some scheduling issues with the calendar, but were able to secure a date thanks to the huge help from the Aloha State Softball League and their board of directors led by Rich Kidd, commissioner of the league. To alleviate scheduling issues in the future, Aikane Ohana (our fiscal sponsor and community organization) created an all sports league calendar for us to use for upcoming events. That calendar is located here! Check it out!

Welcome to Oahu!!

This weekend will be so fun and we want to encourage you to enjoy your stay or your staycation at one of our Classic Tournament host hotels. Please encourage everyone to make reservations today! These are super sweet deals that we have scored. Check them out here!
